We are the only facility in the area that has the provision for your child from the age of 9 months to 11 years old.
Buzy Bees staff are committed to developing their knowledge in all areas of Early Years care and we strive to update our training by attending courses on a regular basis.
The Committee:
This is a group of parents who want to be involved in the early year’s education of their children. We are not allowed to run without a committee and their work is of great value and ensures the future of the group. There are three main officers in the committee:
Chairperson: Responsible for chairing meetings and overseeing the running of the group. They liaise with parents, staff and other committee members and is available to discuss any issues you may wish to raise. Our present chairperson is Mrs. Vicki Gehr.
Secretary: Responsible for issuing the agenda prior to a meeting and distributing them. The secretary is also involved with publicity issues including advertising. This can be a shared position and plenty of team work is involved. Our present Secretary is Mrs. Helen Hicks.
Treasurer: Oversees and is responsible for everything financial to do with the group. The present Treasurer is Mrs. Rachael Giddens. Buzy Bees also employs an accountant and book-keeper to assist the Treasurer. The rest of the committee is made up of volunteer parents who are also interested in the running of the group. We are always glad to accept any offers of help.
The Officer roles of the committee are now very time consuming and complex as volunteer posts so to ease the pressure Sue Adams, Buzy Bees Manager is the Committee administrator and she will do the banking, typing, and any other work that needs doing on the committee.

Training:
Buzy Bees staff have completed many training courses in their careers and you will find details of these in the foyer should you wish to look at them.
Regular helpers:
Please feel free to come in and help out. Parents are welcome at any time to come in and see how the sessions are run and what your children are doing whilst they are with us.
Stay for 10 minutes, an hour or make it a more regular commitment, the choice is yours. Anybody coming in to help on a regular basis will be given full training and a Police check will be made to ensure the children’s safety at all times.
The staff:
We are a dedicated team of 6 who are all highly qualified in Early Years education and are all trained in Paediatric First Aid.
Manager and Committee Administrator:
Sue Adams is a mother of 2 daughters. She has been working in pre-schools since 1993 and has achieved the following qualifications: Diploma in Pre-School Practice Level 3. She has completed a SMILEY course which is a Government Initiative to teach management skills in the private sector.
Play Assistant and First Aider:
Sue DeSeta has one daughter and one son. She has worked at Buzy Bees for 9 years and has achieved the following qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development.
Play Assistant and Fees Administrator:
These roles are undertaken by Sam Williams. She can be found in the foyer at regular intervals during the week to collect any fees/payments outstanding. Sam is also our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). She has one daughter and one son. She has worked at Buzy Bees for 9 years and has achieved the following qualifications: NVQ Level 3 Child Care Learning and Development.
Play assistant and training co-ordinator:
Sharon Rowe has 2 daughters. She has worked at Buzy Bees for four years and has achieved the following qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Child Care Learning and Development. She is also qualified in Makaton sign language.
